“Two years ago, one mistake cost Gideon Royal the girl of his dreams. Since then he’s become jaded and stoic, caught in a spiral that has him dealing with blackmail, heartache and loss. When he left for college, he hoped to start over. But fate has other ideas, placing Savannah Montgomery in his path again.

I read Paper Princess, the first book in The Royals series, from a sampler on iBooks and then after the first few chapters, I was so absorbed in the story that I had to buy the full ebook to finish it! I then went on to buy the second and third book that concluded Ella and Reed’s story and I was sad to see it go because it was such a fun, dramatic series that you could lose yourself in. However, the author duo seemed to still be attached to the family as their readers were and she released a novella about the older brother Gideon and his love from high school, Savannah. I forgot that I had downloaded this ebook until I went onto my iBooks app to look for something new to read but I read it straight away and finished it in the afternoon.

This book went back and forward a lot between what happened three years ago when Savannah came to their high school and captured Gideon’s attention to their present-day with her coming to college and once again taking his attention completely. Although, due to the issues that happened with their family during the previous books and the cheating scandal that broke Savannah and Gideon up. After he broke her heart she vowed to ruin his life and do anything to hurt him. It sounds terrible but with a broken heart I can’t really blame her even if her youth may have clouded her actions and she was probably better off just trying to move on. Overall, not a lot happened in this book as it was just a small novella to fill in a story more but I think it was a great addition and it was helpful to know the backstory as well as learn more about these characters.

Now that I’m back into The Royals series I do want to read the fourth and fifth books they’ve released about the third of the brothers, Easton Royal. I think I will end up reading them this year because they’re such easy reads that you can just enjoy and so unlike real life with their crazy family stuff and with their over the top romances! However, there’s no word yet if the authors are looking to write any further books for the Royal twins, Sebastian and Sawyer. They have been supporting characters throughout the series but they haven’t had much of a storyline themselves. I think if they did have a joint book I could see it being just as popular so fingers crossed!

Thanks for reading!
